Wow! I haven't updated since Valentine's Day! Soon it will be St. Patrick's Day!
Let's see...ever since Nicholas got sick, his sleep schedule has been pretty wacky (hence the lack of posts) and we *think* we may be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! He slept through the night (truly slept through the night) for the first time on Saturday night, from 9pm to 5am! He did it again last night from 9pm to 4:30am! WOW! It's amazing what some sleep can do for a person!
We're going for his 6 month well-baby visit (and shots) on March 21 (Good Friday) so we'll see if he's 18lbs by then - that's my guess, since he's getting SO heavy to hold at church!
Update on his foods: he's had squash (yum), sweet potatoes (his favorite), peas (just ok), peaches (he did NOT like!), green beans (just ok), pears (just ok) and bananas (YUM!) We've also tried rice cereal, (which he likes), barley cereal (which he tolerates), and oatmeal (which he did NOT like). I'm going to try avocado sometime this week, since it's supposed to be really good for babies! Since I like it, I'm hoping he does too!
We stopped at the cemetary on the way to church and dug out the girls' headstone from all the snow. It will be nice when the warm weather comes and stays...and the flowers that we planted last fall start to bloom!
I'm still nursing Nicholas, and have finally figured out a good schedule for me to continue to breastfeed despite working full-time. It does take dedication to pump 3x a day at work, even on days when I'm on the road for sales calls. It's those days that I pump in the front seat with my 'privacy shields' (AKA, sun shades in the windshield and side windows)
I'm still trying to figure out how to make time to scrapbook and enjoy my other hobbies. Believe it or not, I did actually finish a book! First time in a long time..."Down Came the Rain" by Brooke Shields. I had read it before, but it was so much better as I really felt like I identified with what she went through.
We finally got to see some friend for the first time since late December/early January. It was good to see Rita, Dave, Kim, etc. Perhaps we should host a get-together (game night?) now that we've got more room in our house and the basement is family friendly! Just an idea!
Ok, that's all for now (especially since my lunch-hour is almost up!) Check back again soon for new pictures!
